This research into the effects of dancing on the brain, in elderly people, show some evidence that it's not just physical activity that wards off diseases, but that dancing is particularly effective.

The researcher Dr Kathrin Rehfeld says: I think dancing is a powerful tool to set new challenges for body and mind, especially in older age."
